Hello! My name is Lynna (pronounced lee-nuh) and I am currently a 3rd 4th year undergraduate college student living in Southern California. I just started baking almost two years ago when I started college. Before then, it was all frozen cookie dough and box mixes for me. I have always wanted to learn how to bake, but my family didn`t have many baking essentials.
My baking passion started when I was helping my friend and her baking adventures during freshman year, when I lived in the dorms. The following year, I moved into a college apartment and had my very own kitchen! This is when my baking addiction really took off. I went from having 0 baking pans to at least 10 now. I started baking so much, I lost track of all the recipes I`ve tried and my thoughts on each one. So, I was like, "Why not start a blog?" I've blogged before on various platforms, but never stuck to it for more than a year.
Since, I am nowhere close to being an expert baker, most of the recipes posted are my own trials and takes of recipes I find online, in books, or in food magazines. Yeah, you may think this is lame. But, to me, all of this is a whole new learning experience and journey. Each time I am in the kitchen, I`m practicing and learning about the ingredients I am using. Sometimes, I mess up--oh, well. I just want to blog about what I have made and what recipes I've used so I can look back and see if there is been any improvements. :)
In Thanksgiving of 2011, I had no idea what to make for the potluck I was having with my friends. However, a year later and I had over 5 recipes I wanted to make for our annual potluck! (If you are wondering, I ended up making 3 dishes!) The knowledge I have gained from constantly baking and from this blog has really improved my confidence in the kitchen. I cannot be more thrilled!
Oh yeah, I am obsessed with all things love and cute! I figured that I love baking and I bake for those I love...thus, my oven is always filled with hearts. Hence, hearts in my oven!
